Institute on the History and Society of Northeast China

Supported by the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and Shanghai Jiao Tong University, the Institute on the History and Society of Northeast China was established on 5 December 5 2010.

The main research fields include population history and society, based on the multi-generation population database of Liaoning in Qing Dynasty; institutions and society; immigration history and economic history. The center aims to strengthen the research on the history and society of northeast China through international cooperation and cultivation of research students. Professor James Z. LEE is the director of the Research Center, and Ren Yuxue is the executive Director.
